Some time ago trips from Łódź (my home city) to Sankt Petersburg were quite popular. Just like you’re going to capital city. Today, crowds from Łódź are entering train at sunrise to pass glass door in one of Warsaw’s corpo at 9.00. Some time ago people from Łódź were travelling to capital of Great Empire to sign a contract, study, find work, search for adventures.
Things changed.
Petersburg is for people from Łódź, and from all Europe quite exotic direction. One can go there to experience white nights, see bridges and Hermitage, but noone is staying for longer – as noone is thinking about career in Egypt when watching pyramids. When You are moving, You move to the West, East is to be there for a while.
How about changing perspective – move to the East and visit West for short whiles?
I invite You to read Petersburg from polish perspective.
